About QRPress

QRPress is built by Insyra Labs to modernise India's retail photocopy and DTP counters. We make one piece of software: a way for a walk-in customer to hand over a document at a shop counter without giving up their phone number and without the shop owner needing a pen drive.

The problem we solve

An Indian photocopy counter is a single-operator business whose entire intake channel is a personal messaging app. Customers save the owner's number to send a file. The owner's phone fills with other people's bank statements, marksheets and identity documents. The specification for each job — how many copies, colour or black and white, single or double sided — exists only in a chat thread and has to be reconstructed at the machine. The counter is visible to the public all day and the computer behind it is often unmanaged.

None of this is a hardware problem and none of it is a printer problem. It is an intake problem, and it is why counters are busy and not profitable at the same time.

How QRPress works

  1. The shop prints a counter QR code and puts it where customers can see it before they reach the desk.
  2. A customer scans it. A page opens in their normal mobile browser — no app, no store, no account.
  3. They upload PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG, and set their own print options and copy count.
  4. They see the cost calculated from the shop's own rates, then submit.
  5. The job reaches the shop's queue in arrival order with the specification attached, and the shop prints it.

Shop owners work the queue from the web dashboard, the QRPress Android app, or the Windows desktop agent that sends jobs straight to a USB or network printer.

Technology and privacy principles

Editorial and publisher standards

The guides on this site are written to be used, not to be ranked. Where we can verify a figure we cite it. Where we cannot — which is more often than we would like, particularly for Indian printing industry statistics — we say so rather than publishing a plausible number, and we explain how to tell a sourced figure from a recycled one. We do not claim industry benchmarks we have not measured, and we do not publish statistics to support a product claim.

Our product claims are checked against the software. If something we have written about the product is wrong, that is a bug in the writing and we would rather it be reported than quietly left in place.

Support is available on WhatsApp at +91 9933560662 and by email at hello@qrpress.in. If you are a shop owner evaluating QRPress, we would rather talk about your counter's actual job mix than sell you a subscription — the free tier exists so you can test it against real work first.
